... the therapist's role is analogous to that of a mother who provides her child with a secure base from which to explore the world. -- John Bowlby |
My style as a therapist is engaging, warm, and reflective, and I place a great emphasis on building trust and connection as the foundation of my clinical work. Together, from this secure relationship, we can begin to explore difficult and sometimes painful experiences and emotions. By paying attention to these experiences and emotional signals, you can better understand yourself, both past and present. I believe, at birth, we are all hard wired for healing and self-repair, but we need the support of trusting and loving relationships to access the powerful drive within ourselves to grow, heal and flourish. My psychotherapy practice is deeply grounded in psychodynamic theory and is guided by attachment-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy. |
